Christopher Uy

July 19th, 2010
Hi my name is Christine. My spouse is Christopher Uy and our 5 year old son’s name is Jesse. Over the last 4 years Christopher developed a real passion for cycling which led him to belonging to a local bike club MBRC. He looked forward to getting on his bike everyday and every weekend. He gave up his car and opted for cycling to and from work. He pushed himself in every area of his life and we were really proud of his accomplishments. Before long he set out to train to compete in his first race.
On April 2nd of 2010 our lives were changed forever.
Chris was in a cycling accident and suffered a massive brain injury during his first race. He has little or no memory of what exactly happened. A day that his family will never forget.
A flurry of hospitals, specialists, physical therapy and rehab have him in a better place today than 4 months ago.
His passion and fervor for cycling remains intact.
Christopher’s life, and the lives of those close to him, have taken an unexpectedly challenging turn and we will remain strong to help Chris to get his life back, his dreams, his passion.
Although there is still a long road ahead us we are hopeful that Chris will regain his memories and be able to contribute back to society the way he always did. We would not have been able to get through this without the help of others who have been there all the way.
On behalf of Christopher and his family I want to Thank you for your support, it means the world to us.
